The TIR Workshop
Following his lecture tour as the International Guest Speaker for Crisis Intervention Management Australasia (CIMA) in 2012,
Dr John Durkin is returning to run three 5-day workshops in Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR). Those who
attended the CIMA workshops in 2012 will have already been introduced to some of its techniques. TIR is now listed as an
evidence-based approach to trauma with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
(SAMHSA) in the USA. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the UK is reviewing TIR ahead of its
recommendations for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the National Health Service.
